Re: Territorial Changes for Seametrics Flow Meters in the Texas Irrigation Market

In an effort to continue coverage and availability of Seametrics products and to keep up with the demand of the region, Seametrics and Irrigation Components International have re-allocated the geographical territories and distribution points for Seametrics products in North Texas.

Pivotrac Monitoring, based out of Dalhart, will now cover only the areas north of I-40, while Irrigation Components will handle distribution south of I-40 via our warehouse in Amarillo.

Naturally, with a change of coverage areas, some re-alignment of dealers will take place. We ask you to be patient with these changes as we work to provide you the more access to the product through local dealers and warehoused stock both in Dalhart and Amarillo.

If you are based and/or are installing meters north of I-40, please continue to contact Pivotrac Monitoring, in Dalhart. Karlyle Haaland and his staff will be more than happy to direct you to the correct channel to obtain Seametrics products.

If you are based and/or are installing meters to the south of I-40, please contact ICII at our warehouse in Amarillo, where Marty Hughes will be happy to assist you in finding the correct channel to Seametrics products.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at ICII’s home office for further assistance.

Best regards,

Subject: Irrigation Components International / Southwest Branch

I am very pleased to confirm Irrigation Components will be opening our Southwest Branch in Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Marty Hughes has been appointed the Southwest Regional Manager responsible for all sales and branch activity for this strategically important operation. Marty has a long and extensive background in center pivot irrigation. He has worked in sales and service at the dealer level. In addition, he has managed a major regional center pivot parts distribution depot in Texas for 8 years.

Irrigation Components has had a presence in the Southwest for many years. In the past, product has been drop shipped to our dealers from our factories or other branch operations. We feel the time has come for us to have our stock closer to the point of sale. This will lower the freight cost and delivery time to our dealers. The Southwest Branch will allow us to better coordinate and complement our efforts in Mexico as well. We will be stocking our core product lines in Amarillo. This will include gear boxes, gearmotors, tower boxes, main panels, collector rings, conversion kits, tire and wheel assemblies, flowmeters and electrical spare parts. In addition, the Amarillo location will have a new cut to length wire and cable capabilities. We will be stocking Paige/Southwire direct burial, SureSeal and span/motor lead cable in bulk reels. This gives us the capability of cutting any of these items to custom lengths.

Irrigation Components International is making a commitment to our customers in this region. Marty and the rest of the Irrigation Components International team are excited about our new operation in Amarillo.

Sincerely yours,

John McCabe

ICII Introduces the MUD LUG

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

The MUD LUG

the MUD LUG (188)
This is a brief overview of a new product we are testing with the help of a local sod farm. It is called the Mud Lug and its purpose is to speed up the process of getting pivots “unstuck.”
The product comes in two sizes. One for use on 14.9 tires and one for 11.2 tires. Prior to using the product, it needs to be set up for the tire. According to the manufacturer, you should only have to adjust it once and then it will be ready for use on all tires of the same size.

Once the Mud Lug is adjusted properly it takes less than a minute to mount it to the tire. Place it on top of the tire. Make sure the tab drops into the tread so it is not sitting on top of it. Wedge the angle iron into the lip of the rim on each side, then tap the paddle on top to wedge it between the two sides of the bracket. When in use the pressure of the mud pushing against the paddle will tighten the bracket even more. For safety purposes, one person should stay at the pivot point and one should stay with the stuck tire. There is a minimal amount of clearance between the Mud Lug and the drive shaft but if properly installed it will definitely clear. Also, the bracket will slip slightly until it is completely tightened by the pressure of the mud. For this reason, be sure to mount it behind the valve stem. The Mud Lug gives the extra traction needed for a tire that is spinning in the mud.

Be on the lookout for more to come!
